Why the incidents like Zainab keep coming?

The current heartbroken incident in which we came out, raised our voices against the culprits, and brought justice to little Zainab of Qasur, believing that these cases will be stopped and no other child has to go through such inhumaneness was our naivety. We were absolutely mistaken because a molested, raped and severely damaged little body of six-years-old Rabia is another bud that has been crushed ruthlessly and another one to fall in this heinous pit.

According to Daily Times, a post-mortem report confirmed that Rabia had been raped before being strangled to death. Rabia, who went missing on April 15 near from her house and found dead from bushes in Manghopir near Northern Bypass on the next day of her kidnapping, was at the local shop with her sister, her mother stated.

The family, relatives, neighbours and countless people had shown a protest on Tuesday while they were on their way to the graveyard for committal, demanding the speedy detention of the culprits responsible for the heinous crime.

The details of the incidents as stated by anchor Madiha Naqvi left me shattered knowing that this is beyond barbarism and every inhumanity the world has seen. We thought to take Zainab’s rapist into revenge will bring fear of punishment and these merciless sadists will think thousand times before touching a girl but it was one of the many rueful cases that taken into consideration while many others are still waiting to get answered. This is the main reason behind the fact that despite all these actions, the incidents are constantly coming and this is the most alarming situation of this time.

Little girls are being abused, molested, and raped every day. The regretful part is Zainab was not the first one, after the alleged was tried, it came to be known that he had attacked at least seven other children – of which five were murdered – before Zainab. Razia Kubra, who was gang-raped inside the Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum allegedly by the mausoleum’s employees, is still waiting for justice even after 10 years of the incident.

The question is who’s behind the delaying of justice for such severe human rights violation? Unfortunately, the inefficiency of law enforcement agencies and the state that delay the trials and proceedings that was supposed to happen straight away. It also sets a precedent that regardless of the nature of the crime, it would take years for it to fall under the court’s consideration.

Until and unless these criminals are not taken into punishment entirely the way they should be, we will keep observing these types of incidents.
