Daewoo Cab introduced its own car booking app

Daewoo Cab service, the ride-hailing company, decided to stay relevant in the car booking service game through the launching of its own cab-booking app service. With the same services that it delivered back in the old days, Daewoo has initiated its own app for cab-booking to compete with Uber and Careem.

It is undoubtedly an era of Careem and Uber, reaching from one point to another is not an issue anymore since these online car booking services are providing them cars on the doorstep with affordable prices. But, before Careem and Uber, people used to hire taxis and cabs there were considered very expensive so only selected class could seem to afford it. One of the premium cab services at that time was the ‘Daewoo Cab Service’.

After the arrival of Careem and Uber, Daewoo and other cabs apparently looked out of the game. So, the owners decided to back in the scenario with ride-hailing app service to entertain the consumers as Careem and Uber. In the beginning, Daewoo will provide its services in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sukkur, and Peshawar.

Fares are comparatively much higher than Careem and Uber. The Daewoo service costs Rs.480 for the same road that costs Rs.350-250 on Careem and Rs.150-200 on UberGo. Although Daewoo offers only business class service and the prices can’t be afforded by everybody. However, a promotional offer has been launched for users in Karachi. Riders in Karachi can use code DAEWOOFIRST to get Rs.300 off on their first trip.

Daewoo car-booking app is the simpler version of Careem without the animation. For using first, the user is required to sign up or sign in the app. As for all riding apps, it uses Google maps for navigation and locating pick and drop locations. Users can also book the car for later departure per their convenience. The unique feature that Daewoo introduces is EasyPaisa payment option. Users can add an EasyPaisa account and pay their charges through it.

Daewoo’s cab service will contest with Uber and Careem even though it’s more costly than both of them. However, having a good contextual from its previous days, Daewoo might appeal to a lot of consumers. But the longevity of the app is yet to be seen.
