Karachi Kings wrapped up Islamabad United

You absolutely have heard that catches win matches but Karachi Kings yesterday pulled off the entire field by some magnificent piece of bowling. Defending champions have sent back to home after 44-run unbelievable victory at Sharjah. Karachi Kings have just done it what everyone was expecting since the last edition of PSL, smashing every team coming in their way to the trophy of Pakistan Super League Season 2.

Imad Wasim, Man of the Match, proved out to be a turnaround for the game. 127 was the target and it was quite attainable until Imad and Usama started shattering strong batting line-up of Islamabad United and bundled out the whole team at the score of 82, marking the victory of 44 runs plus defending the lowest score of PSL.

The second playoff played between Karachi Kings and Islamabad United saw wonderful bowling attack from both the side. First, it was Islamabad who restricted the Kings and bowled out the whole team for just 126. Rumman Raees was the top bowler grabbing four wickets which helped Islamabad to limit Karachi at 126.

United had an easy target to achieve with the RR of just 6-runs per over. And expected so, openers Dwayne Smith and Asif Ali started off well-turning deliveries to the boundary-line. But Aamir gave the major breakthrough by dismissing Smith on just 8 on an awesome one-handed high-flying catch of Kumar Sangakkara. Brad Haddin who just lasted for 3 deliveries, became the second prey of Aamir in the same over. No other batsman except Asif Ali scored big, he made 39 runs.

Imad Wasim and Usama Mir deserve the credit for their crucial part. They by hook or by crook made it work for them, though, using the dangerous spin of skidders and arm balls and controlling the length and line so fine that the batsman could only defend or struggle. And when Islamabad chose to struggle, they were bowled or Leg-before-wicket. Reds were once 47 for 2 – and then they were 82 all out. Thus, bowling attacks do win matches.

Karachi will encounter Peshawar Zalmi on tomorrow, 3rd of March in the third play-off to play final v Quetta Gladiators on 5th of March at Lahore.
