Angelina Jolie takes on Donald Trump

One of the hottest debates ever done in the world is what we are witnessing today since the election campaign of Donald Trump to date. Just after few days, he had done what he had promised during prudential election days and we really don’t know what’s darker gonna happen next when it’s already put the ban on Muslims traveling immigration for seven countries. A silver liner (small though it may be) is that these indefensible acts have stirred up a phenomenal reaction from people around the world that they– we – are not sitting in silence. They are shouting and Angelina Jolie is the new voice.

Personalities from edges of the frame have opened up against the Donald Trump’s travel ban for seven Muslim countries, either Madonna or Meryl Streep, Hollywood is revealing its humanitarian approach and showing comprehensive support to the immigrants and Muslim travelers. Now, Angelina Jolie has come up with her powerful opinion against the Trump’s policies and orders. In her latest write-up for the New York Times, the Oscar-winning actress strongly criticized the ban and said it will not make the country safer.

"Refugees are men, women, and children caught in the fury of war or the cross hairs of persecution. Far from being terrorists, they are often the victims of terrorism themselves. I also want to know that refugee children who qualify for asylum will always have a chance to plead their case to a compassionate America. And that we can manage our security without writing off citizens of entire countries — even babies — as unsafe to visit our country by virtue of geography or religion," she wrote in the op-ed.

The 41-year-old actress and mother of six including three from different countries is an active humanitarian and special ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. Jolie has worked with the United Nations since 2001 and has carried out over 50 missions for them. She visited Pakistan in 2010 for fundraising after the severe flood.

“Americans have shed blood to defend the idea that human rights transcend culture, geography, ethnicity, and religion,” Jolie wrote. “The decision to suspend the resettlement of refugees to the United States and deny entry to citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries has been met with shock by our friends around the world precisely because of this record.”

This is Angelina Jolie’s first op-ed since his divorce against his Husband Brad Pitt. They both have 6 children including three adopted children from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia other than three biological.

'We must never allow our values to become the collateral damage of a search for greater security. Shutting our door to refugees or discriminating among them is not our way, and does not make us safer,” she added.
