Gerrard is back at Liverpool

Legends never forget to where they belong. Liverpool’s star Steven Gerrard is finally back to where his football career began. The man, who spent his 17 years of life, now rejoined Liverpool as full-time coach of Kirby academy to train the youth focusing on U18s and U23s specifically. The Galaxy midfielder left the Anfield side officially in November 2015 and will start his job as a coach in February.

The 36-year-old former captain, who made 710 appearances for the Merseysiders and is one of the greatest players in the club's history, he made his debut in 1998 and remained loyal to the parent club since he left the club to join Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy in the mid-season of 2014-15 and then eventually quit the club football.

Accepting the offer of coaching, Gerrard is ready to work on wide-ranging position and thus has marked the first step on road to become Boss of Liverpool in near future. Liverpool fans have seen him lifting 10 trophies for the club. Despite having knowledge of almost everything, Liverpool’s legend admits that he needs assistance from the management to become successful in coaching young professional development.

“It feels like completing the circle, returning to the place where it all began,” Gerrard said. “However, this isn’t a decision based on emotion – it’s about what I can offer and contribute. When I knew coming back was a serious option I wanted to make sure it was a substantive role. This gives me a great opportunity to learn and develop as a coach, while at the same time offering my knowledge, ideas, and experience to the young players at an important period of their development.”

Regardless of the rivalries, Manchester United guru, Sir Alex Ferguson tried to encourage Gerrard once, describing him as "the most influential player in England’s golden generation.”

Though Jurgen Klopp is the current manager of Liverpool but it seems that fans might see Gerrard manage the first team one day soon. It would be delightful to watch Liverpool’s favorite man doing the job for the club he loves most.
