Pakistan's First Ever Sikh Player

Going down with the mindset of religious extremism, Pakistan is setting up examples of liberalistic approach. It’s been noticed that first time in the history of Pakistan, a Sikh player has been selected as an emerging player in the national U-19 team. Mahindra pal became the first Pakistan-origin Sikh to play for Pakistan at international level. He was the captain of a regional team, Khalsa XI representing Nankana Sahab. Initially, he belonged to Abbottabad but later shifted Nankana Sahab and started playing cricket at Khalsa XI among other players of Sikh community.

Mahindra pal isn’t the first non-Muslim player to secure a place U-19 team but we have seen playing Danish Kaneria and Mohammad Yousuf (formerly Yousuf Yohanna) to represent Pakistan in international cricket. In a previous couple of decades, People, around the world, have been concerns over the minority issues in Pakistan. The recent selection of Mahindra Pal will create much difference in a brightening image of religious tolerance.

“I am thankful to PCB chairman Sheryar Khan for making it possible for me. I will keep the tradition up of fast bowling in Pakistan and I hope that more deserving players will be selected in coming future. I am planning to set-up a cricket academy at Nankana Sahab so that youngsters will have opportunities to furnish their talent.” Mahindra Pal

There are exceptional stories when we see Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) including youth and rising talented prospects in the group, particularly when we are very much aware that this is the thing our cricket requires the most. Though the experienced players have chief requisite but young talent is obligatory in our cricket group and emerging players will make awesome significance to a huge magnitude too.

Earlier, PCB seemed latent in selecting the new talent throughout the Pakistan but since the inauguration of PSL, youngsters have marked the entrance to achieve national level However, 30 emerging talented players were named to the PCB’s 30 Emerging Players of Pakistan and one of the names we couldn’t overlook was Mahindra pal – Pakistan’s first ever Sikh player!
