Wildly Ours: Past, Present and Future of Pakistan’s Wildlife

Mohatta Palace Museum has a new treat for the people of Karachi as they have opened the doors for all the lovers of wildlife. Pakistan’s wildlife is simply amazing for anybody to look and explore. The new exhibition is titled as “Wildly Ours: Past, Present and Future of Pakistan’s Wildlife”. There are around 22 oil-on-canvas art pieces that depict vivid images of snow Leopards, Wolves, Tigers and Foxes, captured through the eyes of an Italian artist Maurizio Boscheri. This show has been organized by the Consulate of Italy in collaboration with World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan.

Boscheri, the Italian artist seems too excited to capture the wildlife of Pakistan. He believes that nature is the sole source of interest and curiosity for any artist. Colors actually provide food for the mind to play with them and create artistically. He also believes that Pakistan is a very rich country in biodiversity and climate heritage. Snow Leopards, Houbara Bastards and Markhors simply intrigue an artist to produce great work on canvas. Hence, he thinks that no country so far has inspired him the way Pakistan has in biodiversity.

Speaking on such artistic wildlife occasion, Boscheri also mentioned the growing danger to wildlife in the world and in Pakistan as well. He affirmed that he is disappointed in people, who are not taking care of these animals and thus, they are facing too much trouble to death. When this wildlife suffers, art suffers along with it.
