Youth Art Show to Celebrate Pakistani Mountains

Around 50 oil-on-canvas paintings were put on display at the Art and Craft Village as a part of Independence Day celebrations in Islamabad. The best part of this art exhibition was that all the paintings celebrated the mountains of Pakistan. This youth art show was organized by the Development Communications Network (Devcom-Pakistan) and Islamabad Devcom centennial Leo (IDCLC).

In order to celebrate the mountains of Pakistan through art, Sameena Baig, the world’s first woman mountaineer to climb seven highest peaks of the seven continents was invited as the Chief Guest. She too believes that mountains of Pakistan are precious treasure for the country. Every Pakistani should try to explore these mountains. She also emphasized that every government and non-governmental organization should make efforts to showcase and present Pakistani mountains to rest of the world. Hence, when young women are presenting these Pakistani mountains through their art, it is something worth praising.

These paintings reflected the creativity of youth to portray the unique beauty and grandeur of the fantastic mountains in the country. There are different kinds of mountains in every other part of Pakistan; these kinds were portrayed through different styles and designs in artwork. Artists at this event were of the graduate and undergraduate level.

Other than the celebration and showcase of art, exhibitions and occasions like these also give a chance of understanding Pakistan in a better way. It is important for us to be proud of our natural beauty and present it to the world.
