Once again Pakistani and Chinese company have signed a contract for the manufacturing of high-quality glass tubes in Pakistan with the help of advanced technology. Baluchistan Glass of Pakistan and Globallink Glass Technology and Equipment of China have signed a joint-venture contract at the headquarters of Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT).
Under this agreement, there shall be a manufacturing facility established near Lahore to make and sell high-quality USP Type-1 neutral glass tubing, vial and ampoule with the use of advanced technology and equipment. The USP Type-1 neutral glass tubing is the latest technology, which has excellent chemical resistance and great mechanical strength.
In addition, there will also be an establishment of a new company called Paidar Hong Glass. High-quality glass tubes shall be produced under the supervision of highly-skilled Chinese glass technologists and engineers. The entire agreement investment is around $9 million. Moreover, two furnaces, with 24 tons per day capacity to each, shall be installed along with the glass tubing, glass vial and glass ampoule manufacturing machinery. Pharmaceutical companies use all these products for research and medical purposes.
Through this joint venture, Pakistan will benefit a lot in import substitution. Fully air-conditioned workshops shall be set up to make sure that pharmaceutical companies are able to produce high-quality medicines with safe and clean packaging. There shall also be around 500 direct job opportunities and many others indirect ones once the commercial operations of this project begin and the work seem to grow.
