Brazil’s Offer of Clean Energy

Brazil is one of those countries in the world, which covers its 42% of the energy needs through the renewable energy sources. Luckily, Brazil is ready to share its knowledge and expertise of renewable energy with Pakistan. This was confirmed by the Ambassador of Brazil recently.

A semi-formal meeting occurred at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), where Brazilian representatives shared their will to extend cooperation with Pakistan in the energy sector. Brazil has improved their per hectare yield with the modern technology and double cropping. It is indeed one of the largest exporters of poultry meat today. Pakistan can readily take advantage of the Brazilian expertise in these sectors.

Brazil is the ninth biggest economy in the world with a GDP of $1.7 trillion and the best place for business and investment. With the arrival of Brazilian ambassador to Pakistan, Pakistani businessmen are being encouraged to work for joint ventures with their Brazilian counterparts. They are also encouraged to report their reservation to the Brazilian embassy in Pakistan regarding tariffs and other similar issues.

So far, relations between Pakistan and Brazil are strong and friendly. However, the trade figure is still low. But if similar ties continue and are strengthened then trade figures will surely increase. The private sector in Pakistan can take more advantage of Brazil’s market through exporting various types of consumer goods like fabrics, readymade garments, leather, towel, pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments and leather goods to Brazil. Brazil offers great export potential.
