Movie Review: Sultan

This Eid-ul-Fitr, Bollywood King of Entertainment, Salman Khan came with his new movie Sultan. Keeping the tradition of releasing his movies in Eid for his fans, just like Bajrangi Bhaijaan last year, Salman Khan’s movies have become an Eid treat for his fans in Pakistan. Cinemas in Pakistan are houseful for Sultan.

With six days to its release, Sultan is being too immensely profitable for Salman and Anushka. The movie is based on a small town wrestler cum Pehelwaan of Haryana, who falls in love with another female state champion. The story unfolds as Sultan’s beloved becomes his inspiration to become a wrestling champion and soon his emotions are devastated with pride and arrogance.

Sultan is about the journey of a wrestler, who was a champion in the ring but failed in his personal life when he lost his son. The movie offers some of the most intricate themes. One of them being the promotion and encouragement girls require entering the field of sports. Similar to Pakistan, India also has gender taboos concerning girls. Girls entering sports is very difficult in comparison to boys. With Sultan, the creators give Indians the message to promote girls ownership in sports.

Sultan became one of the biggest openers for the year 2016. There are some weeks to go before the new Bollywood movies get released and it is anticipated that Sultan will make more business. The movie is not as amazing as Bajrangi Bhaijaan but it is a good watch.
