Finally, relations between Pakistan and Iran go on the next level by reaching the ferry level! As announced by the Pakistan’s Minister for Ports and Shipping, a fast ferry service from Karachi and Gwadar to the Iranian port city of Chabahar shall start in March 2016. This service will serve the national interest at a very great level because it will open various business and commercial opportunities for the people of both the countries.
Firstly, this ferry service shall be great for accommodating people, who travel to Iran with religious purposes. It is obvious that it would be 40% less cheaply than travelling from other means, which is why, more people, will be interested in this service. In addition, people traveling to visit religious places in Iran shall be more secure travelling in a ferry than they are while travelling through roads to Iran. It is indeed the wise decision taken at government’s end after heinous consecutive terrorist attacks on buses of pilgrims in the past.
Nonetheless, other than religious purposes, this ferry service will enable more exchange of people amongst both the countries. People will get a chance of more travelling and enjoying too. In addition, businessmen and tradesmen can arrange exchange of goods and services as well.
Undoubtedly, this ferry service amongst Iran and Pakistan will also strengthen shipping sector of Pakistan. One may expect that through proper check and balance, this venture can become a great source of tourism revival in Pakistan. With tourism, many unknown commercial businesses can emerge, which can help boost our national economy.
