Business Admiration from IMF

During the past year, Pakistan’s economy has improved a lot. There are many reasons for this improvement. The government has taken immense interest in making improvisations at all levels. There have been various diplomatic ties to promote effective trade with neighboring, as well as, foreign countries. It is also commendable how law and order situation in the country has been controlled by Pak Army. All these conditions have favored Pakistani economy to grow by great means.

Recently, Resident Mission Chief, IMF, Dr. Tokhir Mirzoev admired Pakistan’s economy by affirming that there is no chance of Pakistan’s economy getting bankrupt in future because it is improving very steadily. These were the words from the chief at State of the Economy and Way Forward organized by Applied Economics Research Center (AERC) of University of Karachi.

In terms of statistics, Pakistan’s economy stands at 4 currently. Although Pakistani exports have declined during the past period due to some reasons but maintenance of oil prices and strong remittances have enabled the economy to get settled well. Pakistan has also improved in terms of business environment as most people are now willing to make private and public business investments in various sectors.

According to the IMF Chief, Pakistan surely had to take advantage of all the IMF support given to the country. In addition, significantly low oil prices can be considered as a golden economic opportunity today. CPEC should continue to make efforts to avail business opportunities coming from all these economic fluctuations.
