Petrol Prices, Please Don’t Increase

Once again, petrol prices are being expected to get increased. Even with the thought of it, people in Pakistan are like “please don’t increase!”

The government is all set to increase the price due to the consistent increase in the Arab light Crude Oil. If this increase continues, the government will eventually be making more increase in the prices. However, the government is not as helpless as it sounds. For the relief of people, the government can always decrease their General Sales Tax (GST) in petrol prices. But currently, the government seems too non-interested in doing it.

Sales prices have been quite cheap for some time but they have not been too cheap to be compared with the time of Musharaff. Even with these cheap petrol prices, people are not too happy because they did not receive any ease with the prices of other things. When petrol prices are increased, prices of different other commodities are also increased but this time, when the prices were decreased, there wasn’t any noticeable decrease in the prices of other commodities. This makes it quite unfair for common people in Pakistan. Nevertheless, people are cheering for the petrol prices being cheap and affordable.

Now when the government is planning to increase the prices, people are worried and tense. They don’t want the prices to get any higher because it will increase their worries. All the other commodities will eventually get high-priced and this will create many problems. It is hoped that economists find a solution for maintaining current petrol prices.
