Poster Victory for Pakistan

It is time for yet another victory for Pakistan but this time, it’s for kids! 15-year-old Eiza Abid from Pakistan became the second winner for her poster illustrating “What Freedom Means To Her” at the competition organized by International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the international Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, marking their silver jubilee celebration with the theme for human rights.

This victory is special for two reasons. Firstly; it is for Pakistan and secondly, it related to art and society. Eiza used her art to depict the profound relationship between art and society. According to the young artist, her painting is the depiction of individual life’s darkness and confinement. A person is only able to express his thoughts and imagination in their true persona when they are free from social pressures and judgments. At such a young age, Eiza is capable of understanding true meaning of freedom contrary to many matured souls of our society!

Being a winner, Eiza was immensely admired by the Chair of Committee. He believed that all these efforts to promote freedom and liberty with young minds will not go in vain. In order to promote kids with such exceptional art talent, art societies of Pakistan should arrange such events for kids too. These events not just provide a forum for showcasing the talent of young Pakistani individuals but it also expose kids to learn about more intricate themes and realities, which can be depicted through their skills.
